The face of the new Audi coupe comes from the midengine Audi R8 sports car, and the rest has been inspired by the 2003 Nuvolari showcar. The S5 version of the coupe is set apart visually from the conventional A5 by a radiator grille painted in platinum gray and inlaid with chrome trim, more aggressive bumpers, outside mirrors painted silver and four oval tailpipes.

2008 Dodge Viper ACR: From L.A. to Bonneville
Vezi VIPER AC-R ARTICOL: tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..2.* We're about to make our first high-speed run in the still-black 2008 Dodge Viper ACR when the old guy pulls up to our makeshift pit. He looks exactly like the guy you'd expect to meet in the middle of the Bonneville Salt Flats, like a worn-out Hank Williams, Jr. Over the deafening cackle of his Cummins-powered diesel pickup, he yells, "What's you boys doin'?" "We're going to make a few runs in this Viper here." "Yeah, how fast will she run?" "We don't really know. Maybe 190 or so." By the expression on his face, it's obvious ol' Hank has figured out that we have no idea what we're doin'. He knows we're just a bunch of yahoos with a fast car. He takes a good long look at the big winged Viper, then he shuts off the truck's engine so we can hear him better. "When you're going fast, the slightest gust of wind can flip you," he says. "That's why we only ran early in the morning when the air was calm." We look up at the mid-afternoon sun and wonder what we've gotten ourselves into. "And make sure you don't run out of room," he continues. "You think you have all the space in the world, then Floating Mountain is suddenly right in your face. I remember when I went for 300 mph back in 1978; my chutes didn't open and I almost didn't get her stopped." He runs his fingers through a white beard. "Didn't make 300 either," he adds. "Only 280." Great. We thought this Bonneville thing was as easy as holding our foot down until the speedometer stopped moving. Now Mr. Monday Night has us imagining our $100,000 Viper sliding across the Utah desert on its roof.

2008 2010 aftermarket auto Black Camo car Coupe Edmunds Genesis Hyundai Inside LIne motor Preview: SEMA Show FOUNTAIN VALLEY, California — The wraps have been taken off the latest customized 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, revealing a menacing black camouflage exterior, an APR rear wing and tinted taillights. The Genesis coupe was tuned by Street Concepts and will make its sizzling 2008 SEMA Show debut on November 4. Hyundai confirmed in a statement that it will show off three modified Genesis Coupes at the upcoming SEMA show. This latest version underscores the Korean automaker's commitment to beefing up its performance-car credibility. In early September, Hyundai said HKS USA will create a Genesis Coupe 2.0t for SEMA. Hyundai says the camo-swathed iteration of the Genesis Coupe was inspired by the stealth fighter jet. The package also features a custom grille design, Volk 19-inch racing wheels, performance tires, a modified suspension and Brembo brakes. The 3.8-liter V6 engine, with an estimated 306 horsepower, has been tweaked with a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and a cold air intake system. Interior touches include carbon-fiber dashboard trim, a custom Infinity audio system, Cobra seats and black suede accents. Earlier, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe was expected to be delivered to dealers in early February. But in Wednesday's press release about the Street Concepts Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the automaker said the "production model arrives in spring of 2009." The horsepower numbers on the Genesis Coupe also appear to have been readjusted. Hyundai previously said the V6 engine would deliver 310 horsepower and that the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine would deliver 223 hp. In its latest missive, it says the four-cylinder will deliver 210 hp.

2010 Hyundai Portico Spy Shots
GET THE INSIDE SCOOP ON THE HYUNDAI PORTICO: Hyundai may already have three SUVs in its lineup, but that's not stopping it from developing yet another. The 2010 Hyundai Portico, spotted here testing in Death Valley, will slot in below the Veracruz in terms of size, and just above the Santa Fe in terms of price. Now, the Santa Fe isn't much of an off-roader, but the Portico will take the crossover idea one step further. Built on the same front-wheel-drive platform as the Santa Fe, the Portico will have a sportier calibration that's intended to make it feel more like a tall sedan than a compact SUV. For instance, notice the wheels and tires on these prototypes. Compared to the Santa Fe, the Portico's setup uses what look like larger wheels and lower-profile tires. The overall roof line of the Portico is lower as well, another difference that should improve its handling compared to the Santa Fe. Straight-line performance should be solid, as the 2010 Hyundai Portico will most likely stick with V6s in a bid to position it slightly above the Santa Fe. Expect to see the same 3.3-liter V6 found in the Sonata as the base engine for the Portico, while Hyundai's larger 3.8-liter V6 will be offered on higher trim levels. Expect to see all-wheel drive as an option, too. Unlike many other crossovers in the category, the Portico will only feature seating for five. Hyundai figures that buyers who really need the extra room will upgrade to the Veracruz, so the Portico can concentrate on making the best of the room it has. Hyundai even toyed with the idea of sliding doors on the concept, but judging by these prototypes, it decided to stick with a more traditional setup for the production model. DOES PORSCHE GET IT RIGHT WITH THE PANAMERA? FIND OUT AT: Our spy shooters have caught the 2010 Porsche Panamera once again, this time during some hot-weather testing in Death Valley, California. And once again, the upcoming four-door Porsche has left us scratching our heads over its design. Incorporating elements from both the 911 and the Cayenne, the Panamera looks like it's having a hard time pulling off the whole "four-door coupe" idea. The high window line makes it look bulky in profile, while the massive hatchback window does little to slim down the big rear end. We'll assume for now that the car will look far more elegant when all the tape comes off, but for now the Panamera looks like it could take over from the Cayenne as the least attractive Porsche in the Stuttgart company's lineup. Three direct-injection gasoline engines are expected to be offered from the start of North American sales, which now look likely to begin in late 2009. At the bottom end of the scale will be a 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 sourced from Volkswagen. Positioned above that will be the Panamera S, with a Porsche-developed 4.8-liter V8 that makes 405 hp. Rounding out the lineup will be the Panamera Turbo, challenging the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG with a turbocharged 520-hp 4.8-liter V8. Porsche has also confirmed it will add a gasoline-electric hybrid version of the Panamera to its lineup in 2010. It is expected to receive an adapted version of the full parallel-hybrid system that Porsche is developing in cooperation with Volkswagen for the second-generation Cayenne and Touareg. Average fuel economy, Porsche claims, will top 25 mpg. The entry-level V6 is expected to be sold exclusively in rear-wheel-drive guise. The V8-powered models are set to have an adapted version of the Cayenne's Haldex-style four-wheel-drive system with multiplate clutch. Among the gearbox choices will be a standard six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic. Prices in Europe are expected to start at around $125,000 for the Panamera V6, ranging up to $195,000 for the Panamera Turbo. Sticker prices on the U.S. models could be slightly lower when it goes on sale in late 2009.

The AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter, Flying Tiger, is the advanced AH-64D Longbow. It has improved sensor suite & weapons systems. It was updated with T700-GE-701 engines and a fully integrated cockpit. The first upgraded Block II apaches were delivered in 2003. Block III improvements are for 2008. The Apache is the Army's chief attack helicopter and used for high value targets, such as destroying tanks, armored vehicles, and hard material targets. It can fire 625 rounds per minute, is called the long bow, and has two GE turbojet engines with interconnected transmission. Also in the show were F-104 Starfighters in close dangerous formation, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-18 Super Hornet flying with the F-4U Corsair, and the B-25. The show included a shockwave jet truck and the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. Also the Misty Blues Skydiving Team, Air National Guard C-130, and heritage and legacy flights. Bomb bay openings are shown for both the Raptor and the B-25. The F-22 Raptor, F16 Fighting Falcon, and P51 Mustang flew together in close formation. The Dayton Ohio Air show takes place near the National Museum of the United States Air Force near Wright-Patterson AFB, the birthplace of aviation. The Dayton Air Show features precision aerial maneuvers to display some of the world's most amazing aircraft. Some portions are so dangerous they have resulted in crashes - stunt pilot Jim LeRoy had a fatal crash July 28 2007. However the same aerobatics procedures continue unchanged in this year's show. Also in the show were F-104 Starfighters in close dangerous formation, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-18 Super Hornet flying with the F-4U Corsair, and the B-25. The show included a shockwave jet truck and the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. Also the Misty Blues Skydiving Team, Air National Guard C-130, and heritage and legacy flights. Bomb bay openings are shown for both the Raptor and the B-25. The F-22 Raptor, F16 Fighting Falcon, and P51 Mustang flew together in close formation. The Dayton Ohio Air show takes place near the National Museum of the United States Air Force near Wright-Patterson AFB, the birthplace of aviation. The Dayton Air Show features precision aerial maneuvers to display some of the world's most amazing aircraft. Some portions are so dangerous they have resulted in crashes - stunt pilot Jim LeRoy had a fatal crash July 28 2007. However the same aerobatics procedures continue unchanged in this year's show. Some of the demonstrations are at just below, or possibly at, supersonic speeds.
